No mails from me last week for a slightly embarrassing reason
Finally after a little delay, Mentors released all of their new “Launch You” training programmes
And they are genuinely fabulous
I got to work setting everything up on my end so that i could share it all with you
Only for it all to disappear from my back office again…
So I got on to support who as always got back to me quickly to apologise - another bug had been found in the system
Frustrating though this is I do get it.
When you build a complicated system that serves thousands of affiliates, students and team members in over 100 countries, bugs are inevitable.
Sometimes you actually have to launch it before they become obvious.
Although a tiny problem in comparison, I can relate as I’ve had a nightmare couple of days replacing my kitchen tap!
What looked at first like a very simple job - surely all plumbing fittings are standard? - turned into several visits to the local plumbing supply place for parts that didn’t fit
I was worried about being without water for days (weeks maybe given how long it takes to get a plumber these days)
But in the end I had to just brace myself, turn off the water supply and pull the old tap out in the hopes that I could use some of its parts on the new one.
They worked BUT….
I’d connected the hot tail to the cold side of the tap and vice versa. So I had to turn off the water again and change them over
Then I found a washer I’d forgotten to fit so had to take it all apart and start over
Finally we have a lovely new pull out kitchen mixer tap!
So I can totally accept that even simple systems can create big problems
That said, The Mentors team have it seems fixed all the techie bugs and are hosting a live webinar today to show us all how to set it up and explain the delays.
I’m on a Zoom call unfortunately but will catch the recording tomorrow and tell you all about it by the end of the week
