Hi
Hope you are well
I’ve been taking a bit of R&R lately - taking advantage of the heatwave here in the UK
That’s the whole point of a semi automated online income anyway right? Time freedom and adaptability.
But I wanted to keep in touch and will get back to normal soon when I will have some big news relevant to the above.
And I had a little insight yesterday I wanted to share.
My partner and I (she chooses not to work on Monday’s) decided to go for a swim at a fabulous spot we discovered this spring.
It's an incredible natural water feature that must be thousands of years old. There are waterfalls, deep pools - some wide enough to paddle canoes around, underwater bridges, big rocks and sandbanks.
It being a Monday, we had it to ourselves.
Ok, this is Scotland so the water is never going to be exactly warm (although it is at Ostel Bay where we are going on Friday)
But its beautiful after the initial shock and when its 25 degrees you soon warm up wen you come back out.
So I decided to just go for it and jumped into a sort of natural plunge pool.
It was at first shockingly cold but then……. just cold. I got out and warmed up almost immediately.
I did this a few times - even slipping and falling in at one point lol
And it was wonderful.
My partner however, after wading in to thigh level, decided it was way too cold. She decided to wait until a persistent cloud cleared so she could wait to get really, really hot. Then the water would be irresistible.
I dried off and got dressed while we waited.
But that time never came. Although it was very warm, that cloud just would not move away, denying us the full heat of the sun.
And she didn’t get her swim.
Its a minor example of how waiting for the “perfect” time to do something is never a great plan.
But people do it all the time in much more serious areas of life.
They wait for the stars to align, for the lottery win or tax rebate or that other thing before they make a move.
Right now lots of people are waiting for the pandemic to end and things to get back to normal. They’ve waited at least 18 months for that so far
In that time jobs, careers and businesses have been lost and may never return
But, with the right training, tools and know how, they could have started an online business and be in profit
With the peace of mind that comes with knowing you will always be able to make a living even if the thing you started with doesn’t pan out.
It about the skills, knowledge and systems and as I say, I will have exciting news to share soon on that subject
By the way, when we got home yesterday I found I’d made some online sales while I was swimming.
Talk soon
Bests
Dave
