I didn’t email you on Monday as usual for a number of reasons

 

I worked all day on Sunday with my good friend and Youtube partner Selima who was visiting the area for a week.

 

She has a couple of longer stays booked for June and October and plans to move here permanently within the year.

 

Anyway we wanted to shoot an intro video for our Youtube channel we have been working on for some time but so far only by Zoom.

 

Incredible how long it can take to get a couple of minutes of video sometimes!

 

I also had a lot to do to prepare for a new arrival to our home

 

After months of looking for a kitten, a friend from the local Cat protection charity found us one

 

During this pandemic 2 big issues have impacted the process of buying or adopting a cat or dog

 

1.  The prices being charged are utterly scandalous. Sellers have taken advantage of the huge upsurge in people looking for a furry lockdown friend.

 

2. An awful lot of these lockdown pets are being abandoned by people who are returning to work. They find that they can’t look after them or no longer want them now that they are able to get out and about.

 

We decided that rather than pay 10 times more for a kitten than we would have a year ago, we would try and save one that has been abandoned.

 

Luckily that’s what’s happened. The cost? A donation of cat food (we made it a generous one)

 

My partner has a very sore back so she can’t do a lot right now   

 

So I had to finish revarnishing our floors, painting the doors, get the donation food as well as a litter tray, litter and food for the kitten

 

I also had to wash the driving school car and post several lamps from the lamp business. On the way back I stopped in at Brian’s “everything shop” and relived him of a pile of empty cardboard boxes.

 

I made dinner, sank a few glasses of the very nice Sancerre that Selima brought us and fell asleep

 

All very ordinary stuff I know but it does amaze me how people with a 9-5 job manage to get all this normal stuff done - How I managed to do it (and be in a busy band) for all those years

 

Luckily when your income comes from the Internet time does not equal money
