Hi
I had a tiny crisis yesterday which forced me to adapt different methods and try new approaches to something I'd been doing for years.
The result proved to be an eye opener - things were actually better than they had been before and I’ll be using these new methods from now on
Guess what is was………
I popped in to the supermarket to grab a few essentials.
One of those for me at least, is good ground coffee - cant live without the stuff. I’ve got a Nespresso but sometimes I just prefer to brew a big mug full in my Cafetiere
So I grabbed my usual bag of medium ground and headed home
Only to discover that I’d picked up whole beans by mistake!
Nightmare!
Should I try the blender of food processor? Would the beans be too hard and break the machines?
Should I just take them back and swap for ground coffee?
Then my eyes settled on our mortar and pestle
Turns out that coffee beans are no match for good old fashioned elbow grease and solid granite tools
I soon had enough ground for what turned out to be the best cup of coffee I’ve tasted in ages - and I got a little upper body workout to boot!
Talk about turning a crisis into an opportunity
Obviously this is small beans (sorry) compared to the bigger crisis we are all facing right now but it really is the same deal
Every crisis offers an opportunity for change and when we do, we very often end up better off for it.
