Yesterday I talked about how being made redundant - downsized, involuntary attrition - whatever words are used to pretty things up these days
Here's a funny blog post about it I found today
http://moneyaware.co.uk/2011/11/25-euphemisms-for-youve-been-made-redundant/
What I didn't mention - and this follows on from my thoughts about "The right Time" to do something is this…
The very day I was “Given time to pursue other opportunities” it was my partner's birthday.
That week (they waited till Friday) We had remortgaged our house to start my partner's driving instructor business.
How's that for timing!
Actually though there was a silver lining to all this. In 4 parts.
1. I'd been with the company for 12 years so I got the maximum redundancy payout - not a fortune but enough to keep the
wolves from the door for some time.
2. Because we had remortgaged our house my partner's business started with no debt and was in profit quickly - so we had income.
3. As I said yesterday the redundancy gave me the kick up the ass I'd needed to start working for myself and now, ironically It had also put me in the position to do it.
4. I'd found SFM - Everything I needed to start building the kind of business
and lifestyle i wanted.
As my friend Jay Kubassek said to us all at SFM Momentum day "Your exactly where you need to be at any given time"
Here's the application page link.
