Someone asked me recently if they would need to make videos to do online marketing.
Its a great question because a lot of people find the idea of being on camera intimidating.
The good news is that there's lots of ways you can make videos without actually appearing in them. You can just record your voice, use animation or just use music and captions to get your message across.
Even better you can outsource all of it for peanuts these days with sites like fiverr.com
I'd still suggest you just go for it though - you don't need movie star looks
I personally love
doing video but that's just me - I've been into photography since I was a kid then later I worked in the audio visual industry so I picked up some bits and pieces there.
These days its incredibly easy to make videos. Most laptops and tablets have great video editing apps and programs on them out of the box and they can produce results that would have costs thousands not long
ago.
You don't even need a fancy camera - a smart phone will do the job brilliantly.
Of course if you get into it like I have you might want to accessorise a little but its by no means essential.
In SFM we have some private Facebook groups that members can join to practice their video making without doing it publicly. You get great feedback, encouragement and tips along the way - and its a lot of fun.
We live in a video world these days and we all love to watch content in video form.
Whether thats for entertainment, learning or marketing.
So yes it's a big part of digital marketing but it's fun, creative and pretty easy to do. SFM provides a wealth of video training and as I say there are loads of people in the SFM community who are just getting started with video too - it's a great way to learn and get great at it!
