This morning I was able to help my dad out again. I was again grateful to be able to  drop everything and help him out because of my decision to build an online business. 

My dad just just turned 80 and although he's doing OK for his age he does have a few health issues. He's on medication for a few age related ailments and they have side effects that leave him seeming a bit confused. 

This makes it difficult for him to drive so when he asked if I could take him to the hospital for some tests this morning I was glad to be able to.

This and a conversation I had yesterday with my friend and mentor Mark made me think.

Mark's mum has early onset dementia and he's now having to spend a lot of time looking after her, again this wouldn't have been possible had he still been in his profession as a lawyer rather than running his online businesses. 

This is one of the key advantages of learning how to leverage the age the now live in.

We never know what's around the corner but we can put ourselves in the position to be have more time and more financial freedom without simply selling our time for money in the traditional, old fashioned economy.

This is really what SFM are making possible for so many people - its really not just about the money.  

On another note while I'm thinking about dad. My dad (who is one of my heroes) Worked as an educator all his life - he doesn't have a business bone in his body. When I was a kid I was sometimes a little jealous of friends who's dads ran businesses that they would inherit - if they wanted to. 

I don't have kids but if I did I would want to do that for them - I'd at least want them to  learn how to function in today's world. Digital marketing is without doubt THE skillset to have. 

Anyway, those are my thoughts for the day!
