When I was in Tenerife last week (seems a lifetime ago already) I read the new Jack Reacher novel. I nearly bought it at the airport but instead logged into their free wifi and bought it for my ipad through my Amazon affiliate link ! - Much cheaper and I make a small commish : ) 

If you're a fan like me you won't be surprised to hear it's great !

One of things I like about the Jack Reacher books is the character's choice of lifestyle: He's basically a nomad and relies on his ex military skills to get him through all the adventures his travels bring him into contact with. 

This isn't a million miles from the laptop lifestyle of a digital entrepreneur (without the violence and one set of clothes thing of course!)

That's what attracted to me to the whole SFM philosophy really. The abiltity to travel when and where you want to, carrying your business with you in a laptop.

It offers the possibility of being a sort of stylish nomad. Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek take this to extremes - they have several homes but flit between them as they need or want to. 

When they travel they buy one way tickets in case they need or want to stay wherever they happen to be for an extended time. That's real freedom - without the need to sacrifice comfort. 

It's what attracts millions of people to Lee Child's Jack Reacher books and its what attracts so many people to SFM and DEA.  

With the books it's pure escapism but for skilled digital marketers it can be their reality.
