Ever have one of those can't be bothered days? We all do. 

I'm having one today in fact so I'm going to take the afternoon off. I got quite a lot done yesterday and i'm helping an old friend out tomorrow by doing autocue on an event so that'll be a late one.  

Tonight we are have some friends round and it's my partner's day off. So all in all I figure I'm due some RnR today. 

How does that work though when you run your own business?

It's not like having a job where you can pull a "sickie" as we say in the UK, and still get paid. It's also not something you want to make too much of a habit of or you won't have a business for too long!

The way I look at it is this. If I'm feeling uninspired, tired, lacklustre - whatever it is, it's just better to take some time and re-charge. 

Better that than to force myself to write a blog or a shoot a video or work on an ad campaign because in all honesty they would reflect the way I feel. 

This is actually a necessary part of being an entrepreneur - to recognise when it's just not a work day. It's incredibly cool to be able to do that too and when you run an online business you have work going on in the background anyway - so something is always being done.

If you're a creative person you'll understand this and will agree that there is no point in forcing anything. When you escape from that employed mentality you realise that  you can sometimes achieve an incredible amount in a focussed hour or two than you can in a day or even a week.

Unless I have scheduled calls with any of you guys or with my mentors or webinars, training etc I don't think much about which day of the week it is anymore. So if Thursday's a day off so be it. That's just one example of the freedom this lifestyle offer. 

Everyone is different and in this digital economy we can work in the ways that suits US - not someone else. That's priceless.
