Me and some fellow lifelong learners from all over the world last night
I do, in fact I'm
committed to lifelong learning. I make it a point to learn at least one new thing everyday. In the world of online business there's no shortage of new and exciting things to learn - opportunities to grow.
Last night was no exception. I spent 3 hours on a Facebook training course I joined recently and although I'd already put in a day's work on my business that time flew
by.
On last night's training we learned about some advanced techniques using Facebook's Power Editor - Where you create Facebook Adverts.
There was a lot to take in - luckily I have the recordings for life so I can go over them at my own
speed.
One feature in particular amazed me - re-targeting:
If you've ever wondered how it is that when you've been looking at something online, suddenly you start seeing ads about it on your Facebook newsfeed, your internet browser?….. they seem to follow you around
the internet don't they.
That's re-targeting. One of things you can do with this is to get Facebook to create an audience for your ads made up of people who have visited your website or blog!
Maybe they came across a blog post or a page on your site when they were
browsing on their mobile phone during a coffee break. They were interested but didn't have time to take it any further.
Then maybe after dinner that night they log in to Facebook - there you are on their newsfeed! "Oh yeah - there's that guy whose blog I was reading earlier"….
Powerful stuff.
This is what I mean about lifelong learning. I happily spend time and money to learn this stuff. It's not taught at school or University - it's taught by entrepreneurs. They learn it first then they teach it.
Of course
they're going to charge some money for that - Every form of training
comes with a cost. But when you look at it as an investment - something that's going to pay you back that investment many times over for the rest of your days, instead of just a cost, things change.
Digital marketing is without a doubt the skill to have now and
over the next few decades.
When you grasp that fact, find the right teachers and take action, that's when things start to change for you.
There is no doubt in my mind that with Stuart Ross, Jay Kubassek and the people they choose to partner with, I have the
right teachers.
It starts by opening the first door with an SFM membership - you'll be stunned at all the other doors that open to you after that.
P.S. The people in the picture include: An ex marine, a newsreader, a dancer, an actor, several retirees and a couple of business people. They are from all ages and
backgrounds. They are all SFM members and are all investing in a brighter future. You could be in this picture next time....
Cheers!
