97% or 3% ?

I caught one of Jay Kubassek's weekly "Wake Up" podcasts today.

He was talking as he often does about how important the right mindset is. In particular about the differences in mindset between employees and entrepreneurs. I jotted down a couple of interesting statistics he mentioned.

1. 97% of all people work for the other 3% so in effect you are either an entrepreneur or you work for one. (building THEIR dreams)

2. The average employee actually makes money for their employer only 20% of the time they are at work. So basically if you show up and do your job adequately for 20% of the time you're there you probably wont get fired.

Sound like a good deal? For 97% of people it seems to be. But...

An employee is still required to be there for 100% of the agreed time and is paid what that time is deemed to be worth.

Think of what you could be doing for the other 80% of that time!!!

You could be building an amazing, lifestyle business for a start - one that gives you the power to write your own paychecks, be in control of your own time, lets you live where you want, retire when you want.

Its all doable. You won't get away with only working 20% of the time though unfortunately - at least not at first.

That's why most people work for someone else. Even if they hate it, even if it doesn't pay enough or just enough. It's so sad that so many people let their lives slip by this way. Particularly in this day and age when jobs are "so 2008" : )

Weirdly though a lot of the people who go looking to escape from that cycle just don't accept that it'll take work. Even if it's for themselves! They look for push button schemes and programmes that'll somehow make money fall from the sky.

We have a choice and with SFM and DEA we also have a blueprint and everything we need in front of us.

The only thing they can't supply is hard work and commitment  - no one can supply those for us but us.
