So sad to hear the news about Robin Williams taking his own life today. He's been a little part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Since I first saw him in Mork and Mindy as a school kid I've been a fan and his many talents have entertained me ever since. Although I din't really know him I will miss him.
Sadly he though he seems to have been the text book example of the "tears of the clown" thing: The larger
than life, always seemingly happy persona disguising a troubled soul.
The thing is though he didn't let this stop him until now. And if nothing else we should take that as his legacy. We should grasp the day and make the absolute most we can out out of life.
If we have dreams, no matter how crazy they might seem to others we should pursue them.
A blank page is what every one of us has in front of us every day. It's up to us what we do with the opportunity.
The easiest
choice is obviously to just do the same as we did yesterday. To continue with the preset pattern. If that's working then great but if it isn't then its time to write a new story on the blank page.
I think this is the lesson that extraordinary people have to give us. For many of them it's not as easy for them as it might seem. They have the same or worse problems as
the rest of us to overcome.
We are not all blessed with the same talents and we can't all be performers or be famous. We can though in this day and age, create the lives we want. It takes hard work but if you have the method then thats all it takes.
R.I.P Robin Williams
