This morning I followed my own advice and got up before the crack of dawn to pursue one of my passions - Photography.

You see when it comes to getting really amazing images, particularly landscapes there are two best times of day to get them. They're known to photographers as the golden hours - Dawn and Dusk.

There is something about the quality of light and the stillness at these times that make them magical. 

So I headed out to Loch Lomond to catch the sun rising over the Loch and took what look at first glance to be some great images. I'll spend some time tomorrow working on them before uploading them to a photography site that I use. 

There are two reasons I'm telling you this. This first is that since going online I now have the time to things like this. I don't have to wait for the weekend and hope the weather is good and I don't have to be at work at a certain time. 

While I'm out there taking photo's my advertising campaigns and marketing are working for me generating leads and sales. We call it the laptop lifestyle.

If I was working the old way there is just no way I'd be up at 5am to do some photography before having to be at an 8 hour job at 9am! Neither would I be coming home at 7pm, grabbing a hasty dinner then heading out later to catch the Golden hour at dusk. 

I'd more likely be sat in front of the TV before crashing out with the alarm set for another boring day at the office. 

The second is that I can sell these images online (if they turn out as well as I think) I use an online photography site to sell my work in multiple formats - big canvas prints etc. 

I use all of the tools and training in my SFM back office to do this and it's another online income stream but its produced from a passion that was previously relegated to a hobby.
