It's all happening here in Glasgow folks ! The buzz in and around the city is awesome.

The Queen's baton relay touched down round the corner from us on Tuesday and it seemed only civilised to watch from a nearby hostelry. 

I'm not really much of a sporty person but I do like take in the atmosphere at these big landmark events. One of the benefits of living this "laptop lifestyle" is being able to do so at the drop of a hat. 

Being able to work from anywhere that has an internet connection - and let's face it - that's pretty much anywhere these days - is priceless. 

Whilst waiting for the baton to arrive my partner did a little work on her lessons diary and I wrote a blog post . I tend to do most of my marketing in the morning and sometimes in the evenings if I'm on a Hangout or helping someone via Skype. Whatever fits round what I want to do. 

We're having a nice spell of sunny weather right now and I certainly don't want to miss any of it. Being able to organise my life this way is to my mind priceless.

I wouldn't ever want to give anyone the impression that running an online business is all plain sailing - far from it - but It very definitely provides a huge amount of freedom. 

That's simply because you are operating in a kind of parallel universe. One where time works differently. The internet runs all day and night - every day and night. So it's sort of irrelevant when you decide to work. 

For me at least that makes it a perfect fit. Sometimes I wake up feeling like a dynamo and can happily work on my business for 12 hours or more. Other times I'm not so motivated. At those times its actually better to take some time out. 

I don't think anyone in the world can actually be at their best on demand - every day from 9-5 for example. We live in a world now where we just don't have to. It's not science fiction or some pie in the sky daydream. It's just the way the world is. 

Take advantage of it - we just don't know how long we've got after all.
