Do you ever think that when you pay for for work to be done on your home or your car "that's a lot of money for not a lot of work" ?

I was thinking that recently when I had to get some taps changed in out bathroom. The plumber did the job in 20 minutes and charged like the light brigade ! The fact is though that I'm scared of plumbing or rather the potential for disaster there would be if I attempted it myself.

I those circumstances you don't  think twice about calling the experts in - because that's what they are - experts in their chosen fields. Experts can charge a lot of money for their services. 

There's an old story about a steam ship that develops boiler problems and can only make very slow progress. This means that the owner is losing money so he asks a boiler maker to have a look - a salty old sea dog called Barney.

Barney listens to the owners description of the problem then climbs below to look at the boiler. He listens for a while, smiles then takes out his hammer and taps a red valve once. Immediately the boiler cheers up and returns to its normal efficient self.

The owner is delighted - until he sees Barney's bill for $1000.

"But you only hit it once with a hammer!" he exclaims.

Barney itemises the bill for him as follows:

$1 for a tap of the hammer 

$999 for knowing where to tap

$1000 = Total. 

The point is - knowledge maximizes your income.

And the very best knowledge to have is marketing knowledge. Because you can then promote ANY product or service (whether your own or someone else's) in ANY niche.

Does that make sense?

When I got laid off  back in 2011 - I re-educated myself in online marketing.

It's a skill that:

==> will stand the test of time

==> will always be in demand, and

==> will always be profitable

Unlike many, many jobs and professions today.

Becoming an online marketer is THE very best decision I ever made. The added bonus of the internet and marketing online means I don't have to be physically present anywhere in particular. So I can travel whenever I want. 

Now, we don't have steamships any more as the world has progressed and moved on - but we do have the internet, and the world is now gripped in this digital age.

So, does it make sense to you that you should learn how to market online in order to future-proof your income, lifestyle and freedom?
