Stuart Ross heading for the post office with a couple of nice prizes for some lucky SFM 90 day challenge peeps!

I might have mentioned that around 80 SFM members, myself included are doing a 90 video challenge in a private Facebook group. Th idea really was to give people a safe place to practice shooting videos, getting comfortable in front of a camera and helping each other out with tips, advice and encouragement.  

It's been an amazing excercise so far. You can see the changes in people as they get better and more comfortable and start to find their online presensce. 

Anyway, its at the pint now where people are starting to complete their 90 videos - actually a bit sad but I think we'll continue anyway. 

Here's the thing though. Yesterday Stuart Ross shot a video and posted in the group. He was walking to the post office (back in Surrey this week after moving to Miami) with a couple of mysterious packages. 

He explained that he'd been watching as many of the videos as he could and wanted to reward a couple of the people who has really stood out for him from the videos he had seen. 

Today one of the members posted a video of him receiving and opening a mysterious parcel complete with hand written message. ..... Yep - it was his gift from Stuart Ross - a Canon camera ! Not too shabby ! 

This is the kind of community we have and the kind of leaders. In my experience both are rare in the internet industry. It's unheard of for the multi-millionaire founder of a massively successful online empire to even be seen by their memberships or affiliates. 

Don't get me wrong he and Jay are busy guys. They don't sit on Facebook all day long but they do go out of their way to "drop in" and remind us that they are there for us and appreciate our efforts. as SFM affiliates. 

I had a laugh with Stuart yesterday in fact on Facebook. We were talking about the hats people wear at Ascot, and exchanged a few comments and images. Some other members chipped in and before long i was talking about walking down Buchanan St in Glasgow wearing a pink top hat with a sausage roll in one hand and a glass of champaign in the other. That's NOT going to happen ! 

The whole point of running your own business is to be in control. Our ethos is that you should also be having fun!  When this sense of fun starts at the top and runs through everyone that joins as students, affiliates or standard members it really is a breath of fresh air. 

This extends to live event too. Stu and Jay are not like the standard online "Gurus" - the kind who hide from their audience and dart off to their rooms as soon as they've done their bit. These guys are in the lobby having coffee with us - they are in the bar having a drink and a laugh with us. 

These are rare people and they have created a unique community oriented business here. A lifestyle business you can be truly proud to be part of. You are not just a number here. 

I love it ! and i'm sure you would too.
