Your brilliant days ...

What's your idea of a brilliant day? More to the point really - who says when you can have one?

I had one of mine yesterday and I've actually had a few recently. Nothing fancy or particularly expensive just great days that I've been able to share with my partner (my favourite person in the world) so here it is.

I live in Scotland which I consider to be one the most beautiful countries in the world - trouble is that the weather is not always great ( understatement of the century!)

When we do get a day or two of hot sunny weather though I'm in the position to enjoy it. I'm also lucky enough to live in a part of Scotland which is only 30 mins drive away from the coast.

Our brilliant day consisted of a day driving down the Ayrshire coast with the roof down on our little 2 seater roadster. We stopped here and there for lunch or an ice cream and found some quiet stretches of beach to walk along or just to stop for a while, spread a blanket and just look out to sea at the Island of Arran and beyond that Ireland.

A simple pleasure but one we can enjoy whenever we want to. That for me and for many people who have swapped the traditional economy for an online business, is the reason we did it. Not everyone wants to be or needs to be a millionaire - many people just want to replace their current income in a way that lets them call the shots and enjoy brilliant days whenever they want.

lets face it - none of knows how many of them we've got. A few years ago I had to plan holidays and days off around the boss's schedule - I had to take holidays at the quite times which were school holiday times - and we don't even have kids!

This meant we were forced to pay higher prices for our annual holidays AND I only had so many days holidays allowed! When I add this to the number of sunny days that could have been brilliant but were spent sat in traffic or in a office and it really makes me feel like I've had a lot of time stolen from me !

Yesterday was just one day but it could have stretched to as long as we wanted really. If I have my laptop with me we can take of for as long as we want to on a whim.

In fact one of the reasons we've been having these coastal drives for the last few Friday's is that we quite fancy living by the sea. There is actually nothing to stop us so we will be having a lot of these days this summer while we look for the perfect house in the perfect location - with a good broadband connection!

Ask yourself how many perfect or brilliant days you might have missed. Maybe its time to have more?

P.S Don't forget the sunscreen if you have a roof down day in the sun - My face looks like a boiled lobster!

Cheers !
