The lottery conversation.....

We've all had it at some point haven't we?

IN some of the places I used to work it was a regular topic of conversation: What would we buy for ourselves, How much would we give to family and friends, where would we live..... 

Every time a big winner was announced the conversation would start again. Everytime a particularly unpleasant job or unexpected late finish landed, off we would go to lottery fantasy land. 

Sometimes we would be glad for the lucky winner but more often - sad to say - we would just be jealous (or annoyed - in the case of the old lady who won millions and donated all of it to the cat protection league - "SHE GAVE IT TO CATS ??????") 

Always though the unspoken assumption was that winning the lottery was the only way any of us could get that fancy car, house in France or lifestyle devoid of financial worry.

The truth is though - as I'm sure you know the odds of winning are minuscule so most people just settle for their lot and resign themselves to the fact that life will just go on as normal till retirement. 

These days retirement can actually look pretty bleak for many people who have not taken full responsibility for their own future. No one else will. 

This is probably an accurate assessment - if you always do what you always did you'll always get what you always got. 

Lottery winners have done nothing to earn what they win which is why so many of them run aground: They blow the money very quickly on things that they assume will bring them happiness and can't deal with the fact that they seldom do.  

However

People who really have a burning desire for wealth and abundance (whatever that means to the individual) Will stop at nothing to EARN it. In this day and age technology has given anyone who wants it the opportunity to EARN that wealth.

It's not a fantasy like winning the lottery - it's a cold hard fact. The Internet has created and continues to create more wealth and abundance than any other industry. Not through "get rich quick schemes" and "magic button" systems but through providing people with goods, services and information via the biggest market place the world has ever seen.

It's not going anywhere soon - in fact the opposite is true - there is room for everyone who is prepared to learn the skills (not secrets) required and put in the time and effort. 

This is an investment in yourself and unlike playing the lottery, consistent effort and application always produces the required result. The only people who do not succeed with an online business (presuming they have the right mentors, tools and skill sets of course) are the ones who give up because they expect instant results. 

Oddly these are same people who week after week, month after month and year after year will buy those lottery tickets although they NEVER get a result....
