What I've done with this....

Published: Fri, 05/02/14

Hi people - Friday again and another holiday weekend here in the UK at least - I hope you have a good one!

Last night's monthly SFM founder's call was great as always, with some updates on the new marketing resources that Stu and Jay have been working on. They are now available in our back office and I'm up early to look through everything. From what the guys showed us briefly last night they look amazing.

News

SFM wise - aside from the new tools and resources, Stuart has decanted himself to Miami to escape the UK weather and is working from a very nice Condo he has leased - he really is living the Laptop Lifestyle and showing us what's possible in this new age.

My own business wise: I've been doing a 90 day video challenge and am on day 42 today. I love it and I've learned a lot. I invested in an inexpensive lighting and backdrop kit so that I can produce much better quality videos.

It includes a green screen backdrop so I spent a few hours yesterday recording some video guitar tutorials for my guitar website and then working out how to use Adobe Premier to replace the background. I'm never going to produce a Hollywood blockbuster (although you never know) but I did manage to make a good first attempt at delivering a guitar lesson from a Scottish mountaintop - all done in my home office!

If you want to read about about it you can check out my blog post here. I'll send you links next week to my video efforts. All in all it's been a worthwhile investment so I'm quietly happy.

I wanted to be able to record professional looking videos for all my affiliate marketing sites and this set up means I'll be able to do some clever stuff like incorporating slide shows and video clips as backgrounds. Yes I am a bit geeky in that respect - I spent years in the audio visual industry so I might as well put that to good use in my new career.

This is the beauty of digital marketing for me - you can repurpose any skills and knowledge you happen to have and build a business or businesses you actually love. When you do that it's just not like work at all.

If you are interested in learning the guitar you might find my guitar site interesting and i'd welcome your comments - http://creativeguitarlounge.com You can also learn a riff or guitar tip by video every week by subscribing to the newsletter.

I'd also like to share with you a cheap, easy to use product that saves 18% + on your heating bills whilst reducing your carbon footprint. - Visit that website here

I hope this gives you some idea of what's possible as a digital entrepreneur, or at least what this fairly ordinary Scottish bloke has been able to do by learning some new skills and applying them to my interests and passions. I'd love to help you do the same for yours.

Have a great weekend

Best Wishes

Dave
