I just want to highlight the difference between an "internet business opportunity" and becoming a skilled digital entrepreneur and marketer with The SFM. This is from my own experience with both and I hope you find it useful.
My first experience of an online business was a franchised web store that I bought
from a company that are thankfully no longer in business. I was one of the lucky ones who got my money back after putting a lot of work into the project and following the training provided. I know people who are still stuck with a business like that and are still trying to make it work years later.
I did make some sales but the aforementioned training proved to be very out of date. This actually meant that when Google did one
of their regular updates this type of website was basically killed off overnight.
While running the site though I met a lot of the other people who had bought similar sites from the same company and I built friendships with many of them.
So when I found out about another online business based around advertising and had some success with it, I was able to
build a team quickly as I knew all these people were still looking for a viable online business. You may have heard of Banners Broker?
Too Good To be True ?
That is what was said about Banners Broker - many of the guys promoting it even used this as a catch phrase and it sure felt that way! Let me explain.
After growing the business for 6 months till it was turning over enough for me to start withdrawing profits I found myself in an enviable position. (I thought)
Quite honestly I would wake up in the morning make myself and my partner a coffee and return to bed. I would log in to my account and see how much money I had made in my sleep. It was often $1000 or more. So what would I do for the rest of the
day? - Up to me.
This lasted for around 6 months then things started to go bad. The company stopped paying out. This company (unlike many many other "opportunity" type companies) is still around and it looks like it will be back on track soon - 1 year later!! but in a very different format and I doubt if I will ever see the $140K it has earned me so far.
So
my point is this. Although some of these opportunities or "unique" business ideas sometimes pay off in the short term - I made way more that I invested and many people made a ton from it - they are usually dependant on the owner. If they decide to pack it in or run away with the money you have no come back at all. And if it has become your primary source of income ..... You're F&%$ed
These sorts of things also tend to start
with unrealistic and unsustainable profit margins to make them look ultra attractive. Sometimes they realise this and vastly reduce the profits and rules of the business to compensate, other times they just disappear - I have seen this happen many times.
The BIG difference
The BIG, HUGE, VAST difference between what I've described and SFM is simply
this. SFM/DEA provide training that enables you to market real, valuable products and services on the internet. This includes their products and services if you choose to but if you'd rather put that training and business system to work in another field you can. You can do both!
So you see this is about becoming a person who is a self reliant online marketer able to earn income from the mind bending amount of sales that are
done online - for the rest of your life.
If you take this in it will save you years of wasted effort and potentially a lot of money. The internet in 2014 and beyond offers us massive opportunities to create real, valuable businesses and fantastic lifestyles - but only if you are prepared to learn the trade as you would in any industry.
When you apply for SFM membership not only is your token application fee fully refundable but they want to talk to you too. It's a 2-way street. SFM want to make sure they are a good fit for you; your aims and expectations and vice versa.
