Hi
Since I was laid off in 2011 I’ve come to recognise some things I CAN’T rely on
Obviously one of them being the job for life myth - even the notion of job security
I think 2020 has backed me up on that one eh?
For me the fallout from the banking recession in 2008 cost me my job and income which in turn threatened everything I had worked for
As if that wasn’t enough the pensions I had built up when I was working might now be under threat
That’s in the hands of the Financial services Ombudsman - has been for many months now.
My fingers are crossed but I’m not relying on that either.
What I have learned to do is to become very self reliant.
And I discovered that the internet was the ideal place to do that.
Because by learning a core set of skills that are very transferable you don’t need to rely on anything else.
As an affiliate marketer or e-commerce seller for example you can move from product to product, from service to service using those core skills to get them in front of the people who want and need them.
You don’t need to move offices, commute, get to know new employers or co-workers, climb career ladders or worry about redundancy or recessions.
I genuinely believe that right now with all that is happening on the world, it’s crucial that we become self reliant people.
That was actually the part of my mentors message that really hot home for me and still does.
And they provide you with all the tools you need to become self reliant online.
We are now one week into 2021 and frankly not much has changed. Nor is it likely to for some time to come.
If you are facing more time in isolation, furlough and uncertainty around the future
Use it wisely. One way to start becoming self reliant is to take a look at what my Mentors at SFM can offer

Have a nice weekend!
