I start most days by reading my Quora and Medium daily digests before I get out of bed
They show the most popular questions and answers of the previous day on Quora and the most popular articles on Medium
They are both very different but I invariably learn a lot of new things from them before I even start the day
Granted some are useless and are forgotten almost immediately but others are incredibly useful and insightful
My favourite this morning was the answer to a Quora Question:
“What is the worst thing you can do during the Corona virus lockdown”?
The answer - “Not to make full use of it”.
The person answering the question (a teacher) went into some detail about what he meant
This situation he said, offers us a once in a lifetime chance to experience several months of time wealth rather than the time poverty most are used to
We should use it to:
De-stress
Do things we’ve been putting off forever due to lack of time
Try things we always wanted to (he mentioned growing his hair as one small thing)
Spend serious quality time with the people we are lockdown with
Learn something new
And maybe come out of the experience with a whole new outlook on life - maybe even a whole new direction
I couldn’t agree more - How about you?
My partner and I have done all of those things and it feels great to look out on our de-weeded, re-pathed and neatly tidied garden
Very satisfying to cook in our newly floor tiled, papered and freshly painted kitchen
Work on our music and remotely with friends
learn a completely new advanced computer recording programme.
Work on my partner’s increasingly successful online business
The sad thing for most people is that once life returns to something closers to the old normal
So will they
But for those who really see the opportunity in this and take the time to learn transformational skills
Will treasure this period of time for the rest of their happy, wealthy lives.
