You know, if you are sitting at home in lock down and can’t work because of social distancing
but are able to access government furlough payment or self employed grants....
You are actually getting a taste of what’s sometimes called “The laptop Lifestyle”.
Chances are you are spending some time doing things you usually wish you had more time to do
Hobbies, passions etc.
And maybe you are thinking “Wouldn’t it be great if I could just do this”
Chances are too that you are spending time on video calls with friends and family -
Maybe your kids are accessing online learning
So you are getting used to using things like Zoom, Skype and Youtube
Hopefully too you’re getting some great weather and are spending time in the garden or at least getting out and about for your daily exercise.
Be honest……
Nice isn’t it?
And while you do it you are playing a valuable part in controlling this hellish virus until hopefully we can be rid of it
But if you want to continue living a similar kind of life in the “After Covid19” world
You absolutely can.
If you spend some of the time you have now getting the skills, training and business systems in place
Lets face it if things go back to exactly they way they were you’ll probably go back to having too little time
Your hobbies, passions and interests will return to the back seat
But even that’s a best case scenario
Because we all know that what’s coming next is a major recession, hikes in tax to back £billions of bail out cash and austerity
But not for the Internet.
Just as the people who made the picks and shovels for the California gold rush made most of the money
The people who have digital skills and can help educate those who don’t
Will be the the winners after lockdown.
