Well what a horrible week that was
Ours got off to a bad start 7 days ago when we got back from a lovely 10 mile walk to find that our beautiful little cat Skye had been killed by a car
Then as we all know the week just got worse as the Uk and many other countries were placed on lock down as the Corona Virus sweeps the world.
So like everyone else we were glued to the news for word of how we are all supposed to make a living, pay our mortgages and keep our businesses open for an unknown length of time.
In the Uk at least it looks like our government is stepping up with support packages for employed and self employed people alike.
But that money won’t be available for several months so anyone who doesn’t have the buffer of savings to see them through could be in trouble
What’s happening now is an extreme lesson in the power of being prepared.
My partner and I are able to see the truth of this.
As a driving instructor her business has literally stopped. Hopefully when the crisis passes the business she had will continue and she’ll be able to pick it up again
But she’s not relying on that so she has been doing pretty well with an online business selling her up-cycled lamps
I have to say that my business has been unaffected, in fact I’m making more sales as a result
That’s because a big part of my business is to introduce people to the SFM platform where they can arm themselves with future proof, work from home skills.
I know I’ve said this before but this enforced containment we are experiencing really does offer a perfect opportunity to start acquiring these skills
If you started today its entirely possible to have an online business up and running in a matter of weeks
And be ready for whatever awaits at the end of Corona
Even if you have no idea how to start and no products or services to call your own
Or you could just watch a lot of Netflix and post on social media how bored you are being stuck at home.
