Well it’s been an interesting week - which is why I haven’t emailed till now
Again I’m grateful for the flexibility I have around time through earning my crust online
I organise my work time around my partner’s schedule as a self employed driving instructor and now part time maker of one off lamps
Her schedule, dictated as it is by her pupils availability, is a moving object and actually this suits us both.
On Sunday and Monday I had some great Skype calls with some of my recent SFM members in the USA, Australia and the UK
Again I’m grateful for the flexibility that allows me work across multiple time zones
On Tuesday I attended the funeral of a dear old aunt who passed away after a long decline
Yesterday my partner and I spent most of the day working on our musical projects
So a week that’s been a mix of inspiration, sadness and fun.
And January - a difficult month for most people they say: Back to work after the festive break, terrible weather (in the UK at least) and a general feeling of - “Is this it?”…… is nearly over.
But to paraphrase a wise person I’ve been getting know recently put it - We have a duty to look after ourselves as well as others
That’s actually also the message I take from my aunt’s long and amazing life too
How we do that varies and has to be adapted to the times we live in
In today’s world I believe that learning to embrace and thrive in a digital world and helping other people to do the same ticks all those boxes.
All you really need to do is get out of your own way and let some new ideas and people into your life
And New year resolutions aside, it’s never too late to do that.
I can introduce you some amazing people who helped me do that so just drop me a line by replying to this email if you’d like to arrange a call with me - no matter where in the world you are.
Cheers!
Dave
