It’s amazing to me just how many “shortcuts” my email inbox is bombarded with to this day
I’m talking about marketing and internet income shortcuts here
They typically claim to offer easy or fully automatic systems that:
Generate tons of traffic to your websites;
Create tons of activity on your social media;
Make amazing videos for you with a couple of clicks;
or (literally just dropped in to my mailbox - “7 million + digital assets for $37!!!”
Some of these products on face value are actually quite good but without exception they miss the key fact - how you can actually use them
Without falling foul of Google or Facebook’s incredibly strict guidelines and compliance rules.
Very often they’ll cover this with an upsale - an instructional course or training - at a very much higher price than the ridiculously low initial “tempter”
Don’t get me wrong we all want shortcuts and sometimes they can save you a ton of time.
SFM’s digital business lounge has saved me countless hours in building websites, setting up funnels, creating pages, graphics and learning all the peices of the internet business jigsaw.
Some of the video tools I’ve invested in this year too have been incredibly good
But I steer well clear of the “”shortcuts” that claim to do the actual marketing for me. Those will invariably end in tears.
Pretty soon those $37 0r $97 shortcuts add up if you keep falling for them
To the point where you really would have been much better off investing in something solid like SFM’s all in one platform - (you can apply here)
I’ll end with a recent shortcut story that went badly for me……
When my partner and I ventured out to the village hall on Thursday evening last week to vote we decided to take a shortcut
It was a miserable winter evening - dark, cold and wet - so we wanted to get back to our cosy house as soon as possible.
Our house is at the top of a steep hill. We can get down to the sea shore where the village hall is from the front but this involves a set of grass covered, often slippery stairs.
We could have taken the longer route from the back of the house on a well lit proper road but didn’t
It had been raining constantly all day so the stairs were more treacherous than usual plus it was dark.
I used my iphone torch to light our way.
But I slipped near the top and landed in the mud
Turning up to vote in muddy clothes was bad enough but when we got home I realised I had also cracked my phone screen quite badly
So much for shortcuts!
Some lessons are learned the hard way!
Cheers!
