I often talk about the high level support offered by Six Figure Mentors in my emails, videos and blog posts.
I think its one of the main cornerstones of any business and their’s is superb
But yesterday I saw another example of great support which highlights how it makes a particular brand really stand out.
Last year I bought an all singing, all dancing multi effects pedalboard for my guitar
I also switched from using a big 24 track recorder to my Macbook for music recording
This meant that I had a load of equipment I no longer needed : Recording hardware, effects pedals - that sort of stuff.
I’ve been gradually selling it all off on Ebay
Yesterday I came across a little pedal I’d forgotten about
An odd little thing called a Surf n Turf compressor pedal. This is made by a slightly off the wall American company called Danelectro.
They’ve been around for decades and are best known for quirky guitars. Jimmy Page used them sometimes.
Anyway my little pedal has lost one of it’s two control knobs.
When I looked closely I realised that they are of a pretty unusual design and I couldn’t find replacements - or even anything similar anywhere online.
So I visited Danelectro’s website and found a contact email for someone called Michelle
I sent her an email asking where i could get replacements
Michelle replied thanking me for reaching out and that they appreciate hearing from their customers.
She went on to ask for my address so she could send me new knobs free of charge.
Now that’s service! (I’ve had that pedal for over 15 years and it cost maybe £20)
The only two companies I’ve dealt with that have provided a similar level of service are Apple and SFM.
On the other hand I could write a long list of companies that have provided truly terrible support and have been a nightmare to deal with. Most of these are far bigger companies than Danelectro or SFM
These days I judge an organisation by the first experience I have with their support
You get this with SFM as soon as you submit your risk free application and arrange your intro call with one of their consultants.
Its easy to spot the good guys!
Cheers!
