My times have moved around recently
And although the ability to decide when and where you work is one of the many things I really value about running an online business
It’s weird how difficult it is to get used to stepping out of a groove!
My partner runs a driving instruction business
And I tend to work around the hours she works so that we get to spend more time together
And because I like having the place to myself when I’m working
For a long time she worked on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Fridays
Tuesday nights for us was “date night”.
We’d cook something special or go out for dinner, have a few drinks and watch a movie.
But for whatever reason, her hours have adapted and she has been working on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s
So date night is a Sunday or Monday
Makes no actual difference to me but it is still a little disorienting - you start to forget what day it actually is!
I think this is a hangover from many years of working 9-5 (8-7 more like)
It’s decades of conditioning which, although I haven’t done that for close to 10 years now, seems to still be in there.
It’s a little like jet lag
Still, its a very small price to pay for the freedom it actually represents.
And, as I’m often asked - do I ever miss the 9-5 routine?
No.
Except maybe for that snack van I used to go to which I indulged in on Friday when I attended an event near my old office!
All the best!
