I don’t mean THAT F word - dropping the F bomb as I’ve heard it called
I mean the far more dangerous F word - FEAR
Because sadly that’s the one that seriously holds a lot of people back from reaching their full potential
I see this happening sometimes with people who get in touch with me about SFM
They’ll have seen some of my blog posts or videos introducing SFM and will usually have subscribed for the free video series
If you’re reading this that’s you.
Understandably they’ll often want to speak to me personally before committing to an application or a full membership
They want to make sure I’m a real person and to ask me some questions
I’m generous with my time so I’ll often arrange a Skype of phone call which can last up to an hour.
Other times the conversation is in the form of a number of emails
Then one of two things happens:
The person will either go ahead and submit a risk free application then go on to full membership and beyond
Or, I never hear from them again.
I’ll always send a follow up email just to say I’m hear fro you if have any more questions. But that’s it - I don’t have any desire to pester people and I’m not a sales person
(I seriously hate the hard sell approach and only promote things I use myself and have complete faith in. These things don’t need to be pushed on people. They either see the value or they don’t)
But I always have this nagging thought that FEAR is stopping them from progressing.
It can be fear of being ripped off
Or fear of failure
Fear of doing something they’ll regret
I’ll never know exactly what the fear is and that’s frustrating
Because I’ve seen some spectacular journeys and success stories, including my own, from people who probably had some of those fears but went ahead anyway
“Feel the fear but do it anyway” Susan Jeffers
“Screw it - let’s do it” Richard Branson
Fear is a natural but sometimes harmful human trait which stems from a built in ancient defence mechanism -
Buddhists call it "The Monkey Mind"
It was very useful useful back in the days when we were surrounded by predators and natural dangers
- not so much now that most of those dangers don’t exist
But it still lurks in our subconscious and in the modern world can do more harm than good
When it comes to SFM I can allay some of those fears very easily:
Fear of being ripped off: SFM have addressed this as far as is possible.
They offer a 30 day no questions application fee - so you don’t even risk your $30
There are no binding contracts. If you become a full member and change your mind for some reason you just quit. No questions asked.
Fear of failure: Well, no organisation or individual can guarantee success.
What SFM do is to offer huge levels of support, training, guidance and mentorship. There is ALWAYS someone available to help with any problems or difficulties
Fear of losing money: That IS possible. If you join - and this goes for anything - and do nothing, you will lose whatever you have invested up to that point.
That would apply to a University degree, a gym membership, guitar lessons, driving lessons, apprenticeships, self improvement books, courses and events ……. you name it.
The truth is that these things are vehicles. Like all vehicles they need drivers.
The absolute key to achieving anything is 99% to do with MINDSET
Overcoming FEAR is all mindset.
“Only thing we have to fear is fear itself” Franklin D Roosevelt
