Hey
I often write to you about the digital economy and the disruptive business models it has created
Why its so important to get the skills to not just survive but to thrive in it
Where to get those skills and how to use them
But I’ve been feeling the effects of a different type of disruption lately
And I’m scouring the Internet for the skills to cope with it !
This disruption (don’t laugh) Has come in the form of a new kitten
I knew it was a bad idea but my partner was determined to get a new kitten for her birthday.
So three almost weeks ago we went and got one
She’s tiny, beautiful and very affectionate with us
But
Not so much with other two cats. Hence the disruption.
Our big 4 year old male Dallas has taken the crazy attention from the interloper more or less in his stride
But our 3 year old female Maine Coon Skye is seriously pissed off
The kitten seems to sense her dislike and plays off it.
Every time she hears Skye coming in through the cat flap she springs into action desperate for a play fight
Skye hisses, growls and swipes at her but to no avail. Eventually she heads back outside for some peace.
Often she stays out most of the day of the night coming in only to grab some food, have a brush and then she heads back out.
We expected some disruption but not on this scale or for this long.
I guess you could compare that to the way disruptive business models are shaking the apple cart of the traditional economy so much
In both cases we need to find a solution
And the best place to find it (as with almost everything these days) is on the internet
Trouble is with both things we are often then faced with a mountain of conflicting information, expensive remedies that may or may not work and more frustration.
Weird as it may seem the disruptive business models are easier to deal with - you just join SFM!
Crazy kittens VS stroppy older cats is proving much harder.
We will get there though!!!!
It reminds me little of how I felt when I was first laid off from my corporate career…..
I didn’t know what to do
There were many sleepless nights - my world had been turned upside down
Just as our harmonious life has been with this damn kitten ( lol - only joking Vegas)
Maybe I’ll start a cat business as a sideline
Cheers!
Dave
