One of the questions I get asked most often in relation to SFM (this applies to pretty much any affiliate marketing product or service by the way) is this:
“Won't this become saturated at some point?”
In other words - will there come a point where there are too many affiliates and not enough new business to go round.
The best way I can answer this is to focus on numbers and to make a comparison with my partner’s driving instruction business
The numbers:
The one thing most people don’t get about the internet is the sheer size of it.
2019 surveys state that at present there are 4.39 BILLION internet users in the world
That’s 366 MILLION more than last year (an increase of 9%)
There are 3.48 BILLION social media users
288 Million more than last year
These numbers are pretty much impossible for the human mind to grasp - rather like the age of the universe.
For a species that lives an average of 70 years - even the growing number that reach 100+ years these numbers are literally unfathomable
What we can probably grasp though is that for all intents and purposes they are limitless numbers.
Even with several million affiliates, any product that has a demand for it will never run out of customers.
When the product has a fast growing demand - digital skills and internet entrepreneurship training (SFM) that is even more true
Now the comparison.
We live in a small rural area. The last census in 2013 found 15,560 people in the Cowal Peninsula area. The wider population of the wider Argyll and Bute region is 88, 166
Realistically my partner’s business operates in the Cowal peninsula so 15,560 or so people (maybe a little more now)
A percentage of those are over 17 so potential customers for her
She’s not the only instructor in the area. Over the last 5 years since we have lived here some have left and other have started
We reckon that saturation point has been reached. That’s a small number - 5 to be precise.
She may soon have to go further afield to larger population centres to maintain her business - definitely if she ever wanted to grow it.
On the other hand, whilst SFM’s membership is growing consistently, the potential customer base is also growing
SFM’s products can be marketed to literally billions of people all over the world - potentially anyone over 18 from the 4.9 BILLION people (and growing) who are currently online
There is no where bigger to go looking for business.
If you doubt that the demand for digital skills is growing just have a look at the business news
Retail is dying (we all buy online)
Many of the things we used to have to the high street for: Banking, travel, house buying or selling, basic legal work, books, newspapers, grocery and other purchases (see retail)
Are being replaced by the Internet, automation and Artificial Intelligence
Deutsch Bank for example just announced they’ll be cutting 18, 000 jobs worldwide. These are skilled Investment banking jobs.
We have actually come to the point where only Internet based businesses are actually secure
And its all down to numbers
We ignore this at our peril
Or we invest in the skills that will allow us to thrive in this relentless change
The best place to get them, and a highly profitable, done for you business is with SFM.
