I spent the day yesterday shooting video for a new music video - or more specifically shooting one 3 minute section featuring the singer (my better half)
I kid you not I must have shot the same section 150 times over the last couple of weeks!
But finally we have a sequence she is happy with
As we go through this process though I cant help thinking how mind-numbingly tedious (and expensive) it would have been before the digital revolution
I’d have been using VHS or Beta camcorders instead of my DSLR and Iphone
Editing would have involved two video players a mixer and an extremely big and very expensive Avid editing machine - a room full of kit
I know this because that was my first experience of video editing 20 years ago when i was in the AV industry
Every stage of the process took hours and rendering the final video could be a 24 hr process.
Now I just use my Macbook and it takes a fraction of the time and none of the expense.
Would I ever go back to that? Not a chance
The Digital revolution has had that effect on pretty much everything in our world and to be honest
What’s not to like?
Would you go back to buying film for your camera, waiting a week to see how many of your holiday snaps have come out?
Would you go back to navigating with maps?
Could you do without your smartphone? The Internet? Social media? (well maybe!)
I could mention a thousand other things that have been completely revolutionised and vastly improved by digital
And the biggest of all is the opportunity it presents to completely change your life
To escape from that 9-5 hamster wheel, boom and bust economy - a system controlled entirely by other people to whom you are just a cog in the machine
Once you escape from that you’ll never want to go back
There are organisations, education platforms and proven systems that provide everything you need to get there
All you need to do is to put your hand up and say “I’m ready! ” - do that digitally by clicking here
And submitting a risk free application to join the fastest growing change community around (SFM and DEA)
Cheers!
