A beautiful winter morning today 

 

I was up early enough to enjoy the sunrise from our bedroom window with my morning cappuccino 

 

A little later I nipped down to the village shop for a few essentials and found my car had been decorated by Jack Frost (see pic above) 

 

It brought back childhood memories of when the windows of our house often looked like this on frosty mornings 

 

I haven’t see that for a long time - how things change 

 

From steel framed single glazed windows to double or triple glazed UPVC 

 

From inefficient electric storage heaters to smartphone controlled central heating 

 

New homes, using the latest in high-tech building and insulation materials coupled with heat exchangers, solar panels and other “wizardry” can actually sell back their unused energy to the utilities providers 

 

How amazing! Don’t you just love progress? I know I do 

 

Especially when it also provides the opportunity to put the 9-5 in the same category as those old, inefficient homes we used to live in 

 

Out of date, time demanding and self limiting 

 

We simply don’t have to be stuck in that regime any more
