Yesterday was a good day!

My amazing partner - driving instructor, singer, bass player, keyboard player and guitarist - in no particular order, and I worked on a new video for one of our old songs

We’ve been re-working a handful of songs we performed with our band years ago 

We’d shot lots of clips using my green screen set up and finally got round to moulding them into a video 

It’s nearly there and I’ll share it with you when its done 

To cap it all we decided a little reward was in order ……

So we booked a 2 day excursion to Madrid, Spain at the end of this month.

The holiday season is over so flights and hotels are cheap AND most of the tourists will be back at work so the city will be quieter - just the way we like it. 

I was reminded of how impossible this sort of spontaneity used to be when I was in the 9-5 rat race

One time in particular when an Italian promoter offered us a 4 day tour in and around Parma I endured a nail biting couple of weeks waiting for the boss to grant me the week off 

Even though I had the holiday entitlement and it was a traditionally quiet time of year in the industry

I also remember how clearly I was made to feel that I was somehow “letting the side down” by going off to sunny Italy to get paid for doing something I loved.

Anyway he finally relented grudgingly and off we went 

Things couldn’t be more different now 

We decide on a whim to go somewhere and we go 

I take the opportunity when we’re away to shoot some video which I can use for my online business and before we go I schedule some work that goes into the system while we’re away

So really nothing is disrupted business wise 

It’s the only way to live! And the Internet, progress and technology makes it possible : )
