This weekend I had my eyes opened twice
My better half and I drove up to Oban for an overnight and had a great
time
Eye opener 1 was when we wandered up to Oban’s most famous landmark - a Coliseum-like structure called McCaig’s tower.
It was eye-opening - jaw dropping even - because it was so much more amazing than i’d ever imagined it could be.
You see I lived on the nearby Island of Mull for 4 years and despite visiting Oban weekly during that time, I never once took the time to visit the tower.
I am now so glad I did - the view was incredible, the story of it fascinating and the surroundings truly lovely.

On the way back we stopped at another place that I must have passed by at least a hundred times and never stopped for a closer look
This is St Conan’s Kirk a nice looking old church that sits in gardens on the banks of Loch Awe
We wandered around it for a hour taking photo’s and just marvelling at the inside and outside of the place.
I had always assumed you see that the place was Medieval but it turns out that it was actually built in 1930 by an eccentric architect
Again - even though I am not in the
slightest bit religious I am glad we took the time (finally) to take a closer look
And I guess that is the point is that we do tend to ignore a lot of things these days and potentially miss out on some incredible experiences.
The SFM free trial offer would be a good example
Like the two examples above it costs nothing and might just be the start of something amazing
So instead of ignoring it again why not drop in and take a closer look?

Cheers!
