Today I wanted to share a couple of simple little hacks I’ve found recently that are remarkably simple and very handy.
The first is a simple way to add as many email addresses to an existing gmail address you already have.
All you do is insert a + sign and a number after the email name part of your gmail address eg.
In theory you could insert text here too but I haven’t tested that so
far
so if your email is - johnsmith@gmail.com for example, you could use johnsmith+2@gmail.com
I use this when I’m testing sign up forms in my autoresponder but I can also see it being very useful for creating sub addresses for email rather than creating lots of different email
addresses
The second hack has to do with browser tabs. If you’re anything like me you’ll have lots of tabs open as you work.
I might for example be switching between tabs one of which has a video or an audio file playing on it which I don’t need or want to hear.
All you do to silence the offending tab is to right click on the tab (see image above) From the drop down menu that appears you can select “mute site”
Hope you find these as useful as I do!
Cheers!
