I really believe that a very high percentage of retail stores will close down over the next few years
Its happening
already in fact
But I really hope that there will be some left. I generally hate shopping and like most people these days, do most of it online. But there are times - like yesterday - where a spot of retail therapy can’t be beat.
One entrepreneur who is doing very well with a high street store he opened
recently suggests that the ones that will survive will be just the sort that I’d hoped.
He reckons, and I agree, that the only shops that will survive the digital onslaught will be highly specialised
His store for example sells high end designer furniture not the mass produced stuff you can by cheaper and far
more conveniently on the internet.
And most of his customers come to him from the Internet via digital marketing……
So simple common sense tells us that the most skills from now on will be those that have value in that scenario
If most of us buy most of what we need on the internet (very often from affiliate marketers selling other peoples products) then internet marketing skills will be priceless
And if we want to start a unique business then its customers will most likely look for and find us on the internet
So again, internet marketing skills
are key - if you want to not only future proof your income but to dramatically increase it whilst also working less and enjoying life more
A few years ago this would have sounded farcical but now its reality
Maybe all those big name high street shops that have disappeared would still be there if they had
adapted to this sooner. ……
