Yesterday I got a call from an employment agency asking if i’d be interested in an executive job with a major hotel chain

I registered with them years ago after I was made redundant and had forgotten to update them that I am now joyfully self employed 

When I told the guy that he responded with “Well that self employed mindset is just what my client is looking for”.

That struck me as funny - What happily self-employed business owner would be interested in going back into employment? 

I politely ended the call.

But it made me cast my mind back to my last experience as an employee - and those memories made me shudder inside.

The idea of ever answering to a boss, of putting myself in the position where I could be made redundant again, of working set hours, of having to commute …… the list goes on 

We live in a time where no-one really needs to live like that 

Not when the skills to leverage the Internet are so readily available
