We all know that usually - cheap = crap! - It's a false economy to be less blunt
A little research shows that poor people are tight with their money
Whereas rich people
are tight with their time.
To quote Jim Rohn:
”Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time”.
Here’s a small example from this weekend where I forgot that basic principal myself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having decided to re-decorate some areas in our house (Her decision, not mine - I HATE painting lol) We hit the shops to buy some paint on the way back from
visiting friends on Saturday.
Now we know from past experience that cheap paint sucks - especially when its white going over a strong colour.
But yet we just couldn’t resist what looked like a bargain and bought 6 litres of brilliant white from a discount store - worth a try we
thought……
As I write this post I’ve just finished the first couple of litres on the third coat and I’m still seeing the blue underneath!
The reality is that it’s going to take at least 4 coats - that’s at least double the work compared to using a quality paint.
There’s no way that’s a good use of our time so I’’ll end up buying a can of the good stuff anyway
So in reality (again) We’ve wasted valuable time and in the long run it will cost us more than if we’d just gone for quality in the first place
Or paid someone else to do it (Which is what I will do next time my good lady decides its time for a colour change!)
This is actually also why it is best to invest in books, training, mentorship and proven systems and spend your money wisely rather than trying to hold on to it and stretch it as far as it will go.
If you want to change the time/money balance in your life that is...
Because in this day and age spending 40 or more hours per week working for someone else is a lot like buying cheap
paint!
Cheers!
