I was reading one of David Baldacci’s recent bestsellers this morning on my ipad and just had to copy the passage above
Because it’s so true - even though its from a work of fiction
It’s also something I’ve thought about every time I’ve visited a bank over the last few years
The character who works in a bank asks “Who comes into banks anymore?”
“It’s all online” He continues and wonders how long the bank will keep paying him for couple of people he sees in an 8 hour day.
Banks are an obvious target for technology but they are far from alone in the line of business that are being totally revolutionised
by the internet
But the character in the book is wrong about one thing - “ I guess I haven’t changed fast enough”.
Yes its all happening very fast but there is always time to change - if you see it coming in your industry or
profession
The character is only 50 but thinks its all over - too late to make the switch to the digital economy that has his job in its sights
I was 48 when I lost my job and I know people who were much older when they lost theirs
I can speak for all of us when I say that with hindsight it was the best thing that happened to us
Because we all managed to find a place, a community, mentors and training where we could get the skills to transition to the economy that is thriving
Yep - It’s SFM and you can apply RIGHT HERE for the price of a few coffee’s - better still you have 30 days to decide if you like what you see
If you don’t you’ll get a full refund no
questions asked.
So really the only risk is NOT to take a look at how you can future proof your own economy.
Cheers!
