I’m not a big fan of gloom mongering as a marketing tool 

But I am a realist and when I see what’s happening out there in the traditional world I cant really ignore it

This morning I saw the news that the massive government contractor - Carillion has gone bust.

 I used to project manage corporate events for this company

They seemed like one of those untouchably massive companies that could surely weather any recession, any financial crisis.

But no, unless some kind of government bailout is possible, this Construction and facilities management giant is going down. 

That could mean the loss of 43,000 jobs worldwide (20,000) in the uk and could also threaten company pensions.

I’m talking about this today because its just further evidence than no one can or should rely on this crumbling old economic system 

Instead we need to be future proofing ourselves with the relevant skills for the digital economy - the one that is working and growing 

But the old, traditional education system is also not really fit for purpose any more - it moves too slowly to keep up with the digital revolution. 

So we need to learn from the new thought leaders, digital entrepreneurs and innovators 

Many of whom are to found at SFM and DEA
