Well an eventful evening last night and an exciting day ahead. 

Last night I lit our woodburner just to add some cheer to what was a cold evening here in Argyll. 

A short time late I noticed some embers coming down past the flue and busied myself with several jugs of water while my partner called the fire brigade.

We had things well under control when two fire engines arrived with sirens whooping and lights flashing! 

I have to express my gratitude to be living in a part of the world where this is possible (even if it did seem like a lot of fuss over nothing in the end) 

Better to be safe than sorry! 

That's why getting the skills to thrive in modern times is so important

After I write this email I’m off through to Glasgow to visit my elderly parents who are having a rough time of it health wise 

Again - I’m grateful to be a position to take time out whenever needed to offer them whatever support I can. 

Then tonight, my brother and I are going to see one of our heroes Robert Plant, playing live on the big stage.

So really a lot to be grateful for today! 

You only have to pick up a paper, switch on the TV or go online to see what other people in less fortunate parts of the world are having to deal with.

That’s why IMHO it’s almost a crime not to take full advantage of the opportunity we in the 1st world have at our finger tips. 

I’ve heard my own mentor Jay Kubassek of SFM and DEA saying the same thing. Sometimes it takes a heart stopping event or a loved one’s declining health to really bang the message home though.

Don’t wait for that - grab it with both hands!
