What was your worst ever Monday ? (Hopefully not today!)

I’ll share mine. I have had worse things happen of course just not on a Monday

With hindsight it’s actually proven to be one of the best things that’s happened to me on a Monday - any day in fact …… here goes.

So I turned up to work as usual after a quick shower, hurried coffee and frustrating commute. 

After the usual “How was your weekend?” coffee machine morning conversations at the office, everyone settled down to start the week. 

Just then our boss stood up and asked for a little attention. 

Then he announced that there were going to be some redundancies - not for the first time - and named the departments affected, one of which was business development.

Guess who was the business development manager and sole member of that department? 

                                 Yep, Me!

To make matters worse, it was my partners birthday so I got to deliver that news when I got home 

Some birthday present! 

Sadly a lot more people than ever before will be facing exactly that kind of Monday over the next 5, 10, 20 years 

If they do like I did and take it as a wake up call - a solid proof that job security does not exist anymore and that it’s time to create self reliance - they’ll find more opportunity in the new economy than they can shake a stick at 

if they do what probably comes more naturally - immediately try and get back into the job market ASAP 

Then they’re setting themselves up for more of the same.
