We just booked another holiday - this time over Christmas 

Not that we are all “humbug! about Christmas - well maybe a little : ) 

It more that we are usually ready for another dose of sunshine by December, the Scottish winters being as they are.

But it occurred to me as I was telling a friend and fellow SFM/DEA business owner about it on our Skype call this morning

Most people - and I used to be one of them - think of holidays and travel as a way of 

“Getting away from it all”

“It all” being work, weather, routine, responsibilities

When you make the bigger journey away from the traditional 9-5 or 40/40/40 system (well past it’s sell by date!) 

Into the new internet economy however things change. You stop, as Timothy Ferris says in his book The Four Hour Work Week.

“Living a life you need to take holidays from”.

Because an online business doesn’t stop working just because you do. It doesn’t stop generating income just becuase you’re in a different place.

And actually doing a little work from a sunny terrace with a cold beer by your side isn’t exactly hard graft

After all that is in part - The Laptop Lifestyle.

Oh I know an employer will give you some paid holidays but try taking them whenever or as often as you want to - see what happens!

So if you constantly feel like “Getting away from it all” - Why don’t you! Permanently.
