Everyone learns best in different ways.
Some like to read, others to listen and others to watch
For whatever reason we just absorb and retain better by one of these processes.
I was reminded of this earlier when a friend messaged me for help with a music recording workstation he bought from me a while back.
I included
all the manuals the machine came with - a daunting 2 inch thick chunk of paper! I plowed through it myself when I bought the recorder and it was torture.
But he just can’t get to grips with it and asked If I could just SHOW him the basics.
This is a guy who
carves amazing sculptures from wood with a chainsaw for a living by the way. A very creative guy who is used to visualising what he can pull out of a chunk of wood.
Makes sense then that he learns best by watching - a visual learner.
I’m the same which is why
I love online learning by video - also why online teaching is one of the biggest industries in the world right now.
I guess that why SFM and DEA make so much sense to me: They deliver training by video, print and live events and are operating in a high demand, highly profitable market.
All of which makes them
the best people (around IMHO) to learn from and earn with.
