I’ve had a couple of experiences lately that have made me realise my worth 

And the lesson learned is never to settle for less. 

1. I stepped out of my online business back in July 2016 to shoot and edit a training video for an ex- client of mine from my business development days. 

As I enjoy doing this stuff and there was the potential for recurring work, I agreed on an introductory low price for the work. 

I just got paid for it yesterday ! 

After numerous phone calls and emails and what - 7 months!!! (thats the offline world for you - never again) 

2. We’ve been fighting a 14 month battle with our energy supply company basically trying to pay them! Its a long tedious story and I wont bore you with the details.

Suffice to say that while this went on our bill was growing and growing.

But because they couldn't relate our meters to their databases they couldn't take payments. 

We took it to the energy services ombudsman who took over the complaint and finally - again yesterday - it was resolved.

Due to their own incompetence and a new billing system they admitted all blame, waived all charges and started us from scratch. 

The point is - during all the time spent on both these issues I was distracted from working, annoyed and bad tempered.

But meanwhile my earnings from SFM and DEA were paid bang on time without fail each and every month.

And when I track back where those sales came from - blogs, videos, ads I can work out what my hourly rate would be. 

Suffice to say it’s a lot.

With that in mind I won’t (can’t) ever again allow myself to be taken advantage of or to spend time chasing up nonsense when I could be writing my next $10k blog post! 

Value your time - don’t let anyone else do it!
