I’ve been taking part in a business survey commissioned by Highlands and Islands Enterprise over the last year.

It’s designed to gauge the impact that Brexit and Immigration might have on  businesses in my area of the world.

For me it really highlights (Again) the advantages of running an online business from home.

Because really none of these things has much, if any effect on my business at all. 

Since I don’t import or export physical goods, don’t have employees and can run the business from anywhere,

It doesn’t much matter (from a business point of view at least) ….

Who is in the Whitehouse or 10 Downing Street

Whether or not the UK is part of the EU

Whether Scotland is part of the UK or not 

Obviously I have opinions on these things, and sympathies for some of the people affected by the current state of things, but as far as business is concerned - no problems.

If I was looking for employment or employees or running a traditional business I’d probably be having some sleepless nights right now. 

But I’ve chosen to be part of the new, thriving, digital economy, not the old rapidly sinking one.
