There are very few people I know like and trust on the internet.
Obviously Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek founders of
SFM and DEA are two of them.
The others are mainly by association with those guys - their team and internet community.
Outside of that their are one or two others who over time have offered me consistent insights, tips and advice - even though I’ve never (yet) bought anything from
them.
One is James Wedmore who I first started following because of his reputation as a video marketer and trainer.
I got one of his emails the other day which I really liked.
In it he talked about his first ever online sale - a classic motorbike he bought fixed and sold on Ebay when he was still at high school.
He mentioned that he started doing this quite often after his first sale and was making $2k a week while still at school.
It was when he
attended a careers day that he realised that none of the “boxes” careers advisors were trying to put him in were a good fit.
He realised that he was an entrepreneur - that he made boxes - he didn’t get into them.
I can totally relate to that. Can you?
Whilst not on the same level, I was entrepreneurial at school too. As a keen photographer I did passport photos for school mates. I even sold a few of my images.
I started a car washing round, I fixed air rifles and bought and sold guitar amps.
The point is that I didn’t have the kind of teachers or mentors that encouraged my entrepreneurial streak.
I didn’t have a vehicle - a plan - to scale up.
Unlike James I didn’t stick with it - Instead I resigned myself to fitting into a box as was “the
norm”.
Year later I got the entrepreneurial bug again but really it wasn’t until I saw where the internet was going and then was introduced to Stuart and Jay that I knew I’d found the vehicle.
I’m sharing this because I’m sure you can relate to it.
James Wedmore, is a fair bit younger than me as are the SFM and DEA guys. I didnt grow up with internet - it grew up with me!
There was no Ebay, Google, Facebook or Amazon when I was at school - there was no Internet!
Now that its here though its the perfect place to begin or restart your inner entrepreneur.
But you do need a vehicle to get started and as I’ve said often before, SFM and DEA offer the perfect vehicle.
You don’t even need to
put a down payment on it or endure the hard sell just to get a test drive
You can jump in - nail the throttle and give it the beans for free! -
