On the recommendation of a friend I have just finished watching season 1 of Goliath - a superb 8 part legal drama starring Billy Bob Thornton.

It was superb and I hope it gets the green light for a second season.

I mention this for a few reasons:

1. It’s great!

2. Affiliate marketing is basically just recommending products an services (but getting paid to do so) - not unlike my friend enthusing about Goliath. He knows me and knew I would love it. 

3. The message of the series - based on the story of David and Goliath i.e The little guy beating the giant is very relevant to what a solo internet entrepreneur can achieve - without a huge staff, a ton of resources and a boatload of money and power. 

The internet really has levelled the playing field for everyone. 

I wrote down one little bit of dialogue spoken by Billy Bob’s character in Goliath. He was talking to a witness who was training to be a chef and had just burnt a dish she was practicing. 

She was very upset and down on herself - saying what a failure her dish was 

He said.....

“It’ll only be a failure if you give up. Right now it’s experience”

That’s a phrase anyone who is committed to changing their life (with an online lifestyle business or anything else) should commit to memory.
