An email from Linked In - the professional social and business network I’ve been part of now for about 10 years arrived this morning.
It’s all about their new
E-learning platform and introduced a week of online learning courses they are hosting.
It seems that everyone wants to get into this vast market now - bridging the digital skills gap.
Much as I am a huge fan of Linked in and have many hundreds of contacts on there. I have to say that my own mentors, trainers and business partners at SFM and DEA were and are way ahead of the game
here.
As active digital entrepreneurs they saw the vast gap in digital skills appearing and predicted how technology was set to replace and transform work and business as we know it years ago.
So they started putting their own education and business platform together in 2010.
It’s been up and up since then and they have helped
thousands of people (like me) to overcome setbacks like redundancy and create wonderful lifestyle businesses in the digital economy.
In Linkedin’s email the CEO said:
“Given the rapidly accelerating rate of innovation in the world, it's increasingly important for all of us to take advantage of learning experiences that can better prepare us for the career
opportunities that are and will be, and not just those that once were”
Very true but I sort of prefer the SFM and DEA mission statement:
“Our vision is to wake up millions of people to realise the tremendous potential that lies within themselves. And further, to show them how to harness and exploit this potential in the new, digital economy. In doing
so, they will transition from reliance on their current job or occupation to a life of freedom, self-reliance, and total control”
As a member of their community I know many many people, myself included who can vouch for their success so far.
